Marcus Jundt is the CEO/President of Williston Holding Co (WHC, founded in 2012), based in
Williston, ND, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The company's porfolio includes Williston Brewing Co (largest restaurant by volume in North Dakota); J Dub's Bar & Grill
(Williston's number one sports bar); Gramma Sharon's Family Restaurant (top local Williston breakfast restaurant); and Doc Holliday's Roadhouse (Western-themed restaurant). WHC also recently acquired
Houston-based Mexican Restaurants, Inc (MRI) including the MRI brands: Montrey's Little Mexico, Casa Ole, Crazy Jose's, Tortuga Mexican Kitchen, and Mission Burrito.
He is active in the Williston business & civic community and has invested more than $15 million dollars into the local economy to create new jobs in ND. Marcus is passionate about the people & City of Williston and is proud to call North Dakota his home.
Prior to founding WBC, Marcus co-founded the publicly-held national restaurant chain Kona Grill (NASDAQ: KONA) and served as its company president and CEO (July 2006 to May 2009); chairman of the board (March 2004 to May 2009); & director (September 2000 to May 2009; 2011-current). He is also one of the initial investors in Caribou Coffee (NASDAQ: CBOU), the second largest company-owned gourmet coffeehouse operator in the United States. Marcus is often featured in the national news and interviewed by the media about his businesses and visionary leadership.
From 1992 to 2011, Marcus was vice chairman and president of Jundt Associates, Inc. (1992 - 2011), a successful investment-advisory firm specializing in management of pension assets, mutual funds and hedge funds. Throughout his career, he has been involved as an investor in several successful private enterprises, investing in and advising up and coming businesses. From June 2004 to April 2009, Marcus held the position of general partner for Vail Development, LLC, a private holding company for the Four Seasons Hotel in Vail, CO.
Earlier in his career, he served as a research analyst covering technology, health care, financial services, and consumer industries for Victoria Investors (from November 1988 to March 1992). From July 1987 until October 1988, he worked in various capacities for Cargill Investor Services on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Jundt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Gonzaga University and an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
